Composition of the Bodies

Mário Fortuna is a Professor of public policy, covering micro and macroeconomic policies as well as public finance within the Monetary Union. He is a researcher of “Centro de Estudos de Economia Aplicada do Atlântico”, a joint center of the University of the Azores and University of Madeira. He has guided several regional, national and international policy impact studies, some pertaining to EU policy. He has developed a CGE model for the Azores economy, which has been extensively used for policy analysis of this EU region. These activities have been undertaken since the 1980’s and have led to a profound understanding of the functioning of EU policies. He has participated in three IMF missions (two to Mongolia and one to China) on fiscal issues
