Emiliana Soares da Silva has a degree in Zootechnical Engineering from the University of the Azores, a master’s degree in Economics and Agrarian Sociology from the Technical University of Lisbon, a PhD in Agro-food Economics from the University of Córdoba (Spain) and a degree in Agrarian Economics from the University of the Azores.
She is a Professor of Higher Education, at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco and at the University of the Azores, where she taught technological specialization courses, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, in the areas of economics and agricultural management. She also taught at several European and North American Universities.
She belongs to the Center for Applied Economic Studies of the Atlantic, at the University of the Azores, and belonged to the Center for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development, at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. She participated in several regional, national and international projects.
She was a referee for more than fifty scientific articles published in national and international journals, in the areas of economics, management and other related areas.
She belonged to several scientific congress committees, was a convenor, discussant, topic editor and guest speaker at national and international conferences. She organized several congresses, workshops and scientific event sessions.
She belonged to university management bodies at the University of the Azores.
She is a member of the Order of Engineers and the Portuguese Association of Agrarian Economics.
She is an expert on European policies at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Sea and the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Spatial Planning.
