Ana Isabel Moniz is an Associated Professor at the University of the Azores and an integrated researcher at the Center of Applied Economic Studies of the Atlantic (CEEAplA). She is the Head of the Department of Management, and the former Head of the Bachelor of Science (BcS) in Tourism (2010-2021), at the University of the Azores. She is also a Member of the Scientific Council and a Member of the Assembly at the School of Business and Economics.
Ana Moniz is the author or co-author of more than 50 book chapters and articles in refereed and indexed scientific journals, four books, one preface and co-editor of one book. She integrated the team of six research projects. Her main research topics are sustainable tourism, senior tourism, nature tourism, stakeholders’ perceptions, impacts of tourism, destination image, tourist satisfaction, length of stay, travel planning, small islands, consumer behavior, brand personality, online impulse buying behavior, online purchase intention, and influencer marketing.
Since 2006, she taught three courses in the bachelor’s degree in Tourism and six courses in the master’s and postgraduate degrees, mainly focused on tourism marketing, tourism product management, marketing management, as well as negotiation and communication. She successfully supervised 2 PhD students and around 40 master’s dissertations. Regarding her educational qualifications, Ana Moniz holds a “summa cum laude” PhD degree in Economic and Business Sciences (2006), from the University of the Azores, a master’s degree in Business Sciences (1994), from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE/IUL), and a degree in Business Organization and Management (1989), from the University of the Azores.
