Composition of the Bodies

Francisco J. F. Silva holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Management, from the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain, a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the Technical University of Lisbon and a degree in Organization and Business Management from the University of the Azores. He is currently an Associated Professor at the School of Business and Economics of the University of the Azores, in Portugal.
He has published 24 articles in journals indexed in the ISI Web of Knowledge and presented the results of his research at 23 international conferences. The main domain of his research is in Management, more specifically, in Production and Operations Management. Other areas of interest include Computable General Equilibrium Models (CGE), Tourism and Energy Economics.
Some outlets of his research are Tourism Management Perspectives; Applied Economics; Tourism Economics; Papers in Regional Science; Networks and Spatial Economics; Energy Policy; Journal of the Operational Research Society and International Journal of Production Research; among others.
He is currently the coordinator of the Management undergraduate Program at the University of the Azores and of the Doctoral Program in Economics and Management and a member of the General Council of the University of the Azores.
He assumed several institutional representations outside the academia. He was the first President of the Monitoring Committee of the Recovery and Resilience Plan for the Azores. He was also a member of the Consultative Committee for the Revision of the Tourism Regulation Plan of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and of the Monitoring Committee of the employment and convergence plans of the Regional Government of the Azores.
